The Dragon and the Stars—Aurora Award Winner

The Dragon and the Stars has won Canada’s 2011 Prix Aurora Award in the category of Best English Related Work. Here’s a picture of the editors, Derwin Mak and Eric Choi, accepting the award. The anthology features sci-fi and fantasy stories written by ethnic Chinese authors living in various countries, and includes an introduction by bestselling novelist, Tess Gerritsen. Although I did not personally win anything, I’m thrilled to be a part of this anthology. You can read an excerpt of my story, Papa and Mama, which was published under a slightly different byline.

The Prix Aurora Awards are Canada’s National Science Fiction & Fantasy Awards, and are presented yearly by the Canadian Science Fiction and Fantasy Association. To vote, you have to be a member of the year’s Canvention, which is the Canadian national science fiction convention. This year’s Canvention, SF Contario 2 (Canvention 31), took place in Toronto on Nov 18-20.
